2015 Scholarships Awarded $18,500

Napili Kai Foundation Awards $18,500 in Scholarships The Napili Kai Foundation is proud to announce its 2015 scholarship awards, totaling $18,500, which were presented on May 19th, at the conclusion of its weekly performance at The Napili Kai Beach Resort. The awards were provided by three different scholarship funds: The J.C. Millar Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in 1986 to honor the founder of the Napili Kai Beach Resort for the benefit of the graduates of the Napili Kai Foundation and the children of employees of the Resort. It is supported by the shareholders and owners of the Resort, by the keiki’s weekly show and with community fundraisers. The Perna-Rose Foundation.

Napili Kai Foundation Awards $6,500 in Scholarships The Napili Kai Foundation is proud to announce its 2014 scholarship awards, totaling $6,500, which were presented on June 10th, at the conclusion of our weekly performance at The Napili Kai Beach Resort. The awards came from two different scholarship funds: The Perna-Rose Foundation for Hope, was founded four years ago by Janet Perna who retired after 31 years from executive positions at IBM. Her foundation reaches out nationally and internationally to help a wide variety of organizations. The Dennis Wilkinson Memorial Scholarship Fund was started three years ago by Dennis’ widow, Jamie, her family and friends, who wanted to honor and memorialize.

Napili Kai Foundation Celebrates 50 Years!

April 25-30th, 2017 Return to Napili Kai Beach Resort and celebrate the 50 year legacy of the longest running weekly keiki hula show in Hawai‘i – the Napili Kai Foundation show. This Foundation event has been awarded funding support from the Hawaii Tourism Authority through its Community Enrichment Program, which was created to support groups providing quality resident and visitor experiences, and to strengthen and diversify Hawaii tourism. Saturday, October 19, 2013 PRIZES  •  FUN  • FUNDRAISING Format: Two -person scramble, men will be playing from the middle tees, women from the forward tees. There will be a four-drive minimum per player. Playing partners will be responsible for monitoring drive minimums. Mulligans will be for sale at $5.00 with a max of three per player (six per team). There will be a closest to the pin contest, which is included in the entry fee. There will be an optional par three contest for an additional $10.00. All ties will be decided by a score card playoff starting on the 18th hole. Prizes: Tournament prizes, as well as door.

Help the Napili Kai Foundation Enlighten Maui Children

LAHAINA NEWS – OCT 3, 2013 For 46 years, the Napili Kai Foundation (NKF) has offered free instruction to keiki ages 6-18 to accomplish its important mission: “To perpetuate the cultural legacy of Hawaii through the children of Maui.” The children perform weekly at Napili Kai Beach Resort, sharing the culture and aloha of Hawaii with residents and visitors. NKF also awards higher education scholarships to its graduates and takes the children on meaningful trips. In April, the young performers trekked across the Pacific to Washington State for a week of onstage cultural exchange at the fourth annual Aha Mele organized by the Washington State Hawaiian Civic Club at Chief.

Seattle/Olympia, Washington State Trip 2013

The Foundation completed a very successful trip in April 2013 to the Seattle/Olympia, Washington State area.  The travel troupe consisted of 12 keiki, three musicians, three Kumu (teachers), and two board of directors members.  The week-long excursion included eight performances at:  Nisqually Elders Home, the Aha Mele Show, to which the Foundation had been invited by the Hawaiian Civic Club of Washington State, Evergreen State College, Panorama Retirement Community, Puyallup School, Chief Leschi Schools (K-12), Asia Pacific Cultural Center, and the Saghalie Middle School.  The Foundation received terrific local publicity from The Olympian newspaper.  The Indian Nation schools provided incredible hospitality and wonderful interaction between their students and the Maui.
