Hawaiian Culture

The philosophy of the Foundation and its program is the belief that by studying Polynesian cultures, the children learn:

— Pride in their forebears and a respect for their wisdom;

— Commitment and confidence in mastering ancient skills;

— Cooperation and building teamwork and leadership skills; and,

— Building lasting friendships.

The Foundation’s program provides cultural experiences and workshops throughout the year.

A recent workshop was provided by Maleko Lorenzo, a member of the Polynesian Voyaging Society and a crew member of the Ho’Kulea on its worldwide voyage.  His presentation focused on celestial navigation.
