Guest presenter, Maleko Lorenzo, a member of the Polynesian Voyaging Society and member of the Ho’Ku’lea, the outrigger canoe that completed a worldwide voyage, discussed the basics of ancient star navigation to our keiki members, family and friends. As a result of that workshop, the Foundation began plans (currently on hold) to participate with Maui’s Voyaging Society (Hui o Wa’a Kaulua) in the restoration of Maui’s canoe.
