“Hula should be shared, not judged”

Auntie Emma Farden Sharpe, Renowned Kumu Hula and a member of the first Foundation Board of Directors

The keiki (children) will take you on a tour of Polynesia — from Hawaii to Tahiti to Samoa to New Zealand.

Accompanied by a live band and led by Kumu Hula Kathy Ralar, the keiki will help you experience the power of the ancient chants, the beauty of the hand movements and the jovial songs of the Hapa Haole era.

This sharing of self is the essence of Aloha.

Celebrating over 50 years, and the longest running weekly keiki hula show in the State, the children of the Napili Kai Foundation perform traditional hula (Kahiko), taking you back in time to Old Hawaii, and modern hula (Auwana), when musical instruments were added to the ancient chants.  Completing the show with Tahitian and a variety of dances from other Polynesian islands,  the keiki performers dance, chant, story tell, and sing their way into our hearts with the memorable stories and songs of Polynesia.
